James J. Zello, Sr., 92, of Greensburg, died Saturday, September 25, 2021, in Hempfield Manor, Greensburg. He was born November 14, 1928, in Greensburg, a son of the late Frank and Josephine Zello. Prior to retirement he had been employed by ABB, South Greensburg. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 981, South Greensburg. Jim loved going to breakfast and lunch, especially with his buddies. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. He also played softball for Age Craft. Above all else though, his family meant the most to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte L. (Garland) Zello; two sisters, Genevieve, and Florence Zello; and six brothers, Pete, Michael, Anthony, Henry Sr., Patsy, and Joseph Zello. He is survived by his son, James J. “Buddy” Zello, Jr. (Diane), of North Huntingdon; his daughter, Linda Darazio (Doug), of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Kayleigh Bramhall (John), Christopher Zello (Tessa), Vince Darazio (Lisa), and Samantha Zello; five great-grandchildren, Aubrianna, Alexander, and Adelynn Bramhall, and Vincie and Rinley Darazio; sister, Mary Duncan, of Hopewell, VA; sister-in-law, Judy Zello, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9 AM Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors to be accorded by the American Legion Post No. 981, South Greensburg Honor Guard.
