James Williams

James Williams, 72, of Greensburg, died Monday, December 22, 2025, in Independence Health – Westmoreland Regional Hospital.  He was born April 7, 1953, in Greensburg, a son of the late James G. and May (McMichael) Williams.  James was a dedicated law enforcement officer, entering the profession on May 9, 1977 with the City of Greensburg Police Department where he achieved the rank of detective.  He then joined the Westmorland County Detective’s Bureau, retiring in December of 2023.  His love of law enforcement spanned over 46 years.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensburg and the Fraternal Order of Police.   James was an avid sports fanatic and enjoyed trips to the casino, his pool league, and golfing at Mt. Odin Golf Course.  Most importantly, he loved his family and traveling to new destinations.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Williams; and a sister, Diane Williams.  He is survived by his wife, Victoria “Vicky” (DeSanty) Williams; a daughter, Stephanie Nye (Michael); two grandchildren, Alexis Juvonen (Roman Hart), and Samantha Nye; a great granddaughter, Kaylee Juvonen; a sister-in-law, Delilah DeSanty; and his nieces and nephews, Patrick Williams, Kasey Storkel, Paige Storkel, Bobby Markulin (Michelle Koresko), and Erick Markulin (Jennifer).  Friends will be received from 11 am until 1 pm Saturday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Funeral services will begin at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clint Phillips officiating.  Private entombment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.  www.bachafh.com
