James Stephen Gyurke

James Stephen “Jim” Gyurke, beloved husband and father, age 63, of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 8, 2024 in Greensburg, PA. He was born on July 13, 1960 in Greensburg, PA to Rita L. (Zuzik) Gyurke and the late James M. Gyurke. Jim graduated from St. Vincent College with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and completed his Ph.D. in Psychology at Loyola University, Chicago. He lived a fulfilling life as a loving husband, father, grandfather and son and was passionate about his work of over 30 years in the healthcare and testing industry serving in many leadership positions.  Jim loved playing golf, fly fishing with his sons, and being outdoors with his dog, Ash. He cherished every moment spent with family, especially with his grandsons, Ben and Gabe.  Jim is survived by his loving wife, Rachelle Lawrence Gyurke; his two sons Joshua (Emily) and Nathanael Gyurke; beloved grandsons, Benjamin and Gabriel Gyurke; his mother, Rita Gyurke; his sister, Karen (Greg) Earp; and his mother-in-law Joan Lawrence. He will be deeply missed by his in-laws John (Tracey) Lawrence, Paul (Connie) Lawrence, Kevin (Heather) Lawrence, Andy (Amy) Lawrence, and Colleen (Bret) Lawrence and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Friends will be received from 5 to 8 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday in St. Vincent Basilica, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe.  If you were touched by Jim in any way, please consider a donation to the Brain Injury Association of America (https://www.biausa.org) in lieu of flowers.
