James D. Dean

James D. Dean, 81, of Mutual, died Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born May 26, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Alvie W. and Ruth E. (Whetzel) Dean.  Prior to retirement he worked at Moore & Moreford in South Greensburg.  Jim loved working on his antique cars.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Don and Randy Dean and 2 sisters, Betty Reese and Phyllis Stairs.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Yolanda A. (Mott) Dean, his son, James P. “Jimmy” Dean of Mutual, his daughter, Sandra L. Balchik and husband Rick of Norvelt, 3 grandchildren, Justin Balchik (Emily), Lindsy Maczka (Ronnie) and Kaitlin Balchik (John), his great grandson who was very special and always put a smile on his face, Lucas, a brother, Bob Dean, 2 sisters, Linda Klosky and Virginia Wachs, a special nephew, J.B. Boone and his daughter Olivia, his 2 dogs, Chester and Daisy and several nieces and nephews.  Private funeral arrangements by the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity.
