Helen B. (Brehun) Homulka

Helen B. Homulka, 84, of Mt. Pleasant Township (Mammoth), died Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in Independence Health System, Latrobe.  She was born February 27, 1940 in Unity Township, a daughter of the late Michael Sr. and Anna (Soltis) Brehun.  She was a graduate of Latrobe High School, loved playing bingo, had a green thumb at gardening and was an excellent cook who fed anyone who entered her house.  Helen was very caring and supportive to her children and grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Homulka, 4 brothers, John M., Paul P., Harry J. and Michael Brehun, Jr. and her sister, Mary Lezo.  She is survived by 3 children, Thomas A. Homulka (Dan Gentle) of Chicago, IL, Gary J. Homulka (Debbie) of Stroudsburg and Lisa R. Bradley (Bryan) of Warrington,  2 granddaughters, Ashlyn and Mikayla, her close friend and companion, George Anthony of Alverton and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 1 to 4 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where a funeral liturgy will be held at 11 AM Monday with The Rev. James F. Podlesny, OSB as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Florian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
