Helen M. (Kilgore) Couchenour

Helen Marie (Kilgore) Couchenour, 82, of Greensburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family.  She was born August 2, 1939, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Harry B. Kilgore and Leona Quick Kilgore.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Couchenour; her brother, Donald “Doc” Kilgore; and her sisters, Dorothy Kilgore, Mildred Johnson, and Florence Billheimer.  Helen was the last living member of her family.  She is survived by two children, Donna Zorzi and husband Jeff, and Richard Couchenour and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Carrie Schwab (companion Ray), Ashley Couchenour, Jim Krepps (wife Jackie), and Chris Krepps (wife Malerie); great-grandchildren, Marie, Leah, Karter, Shaylee, Maria, and Logan; her brother-in-law, Carl Armitage; numerous nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.  Helen dearly loved her family and will be sadly missed by all.  She graduated from Greensburg High School Class of 1958 and worked in retail for 40 some years.  She loved high school football and band.  She also loved going to Sunday School and church, and belonged to Church of the Brethren, Southwest Greensburg, and the Koinonia Karolers.  Helen was a cancer survivor.  She put her faith in God to beat it and she did!  She was also an avid Steelers fan.  Per Helen’s request, please wear a Steelers shirt or black and gold attire for the viewing.  Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Parfitt officiating.  Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any animal shelter in Helen’s memory.  www.bachafh.com
