Harry E. “Hutch” Hutchinson, Jr., 87, of Greensburg, passed away on December 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 1, 1938, Hutch was the son of the late Harry and Mary Elka Hutchinson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David W. Hutchinson of Allison Park, PA. Hutch graduated from Greensburg High School and then attended Penn State University, where he earned a degree in civil engineering and played bass drum in the Penn State Marching Blue Band. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., and later in Tripoli, Libya. Hutch spent his entire professional career of over 35 years at West Penn Power. He was an active member of Charter Oak Church and proudly served as a food bank volunteer. Hutch was an avid hunter and fisherman, never missing the first day of deer or trout season. He was also an accomplished woodworker and award-winning duck decoy carver. Hutch enjoyed playing golf in the “Old Farts” golf league at Norvelt Golf Course. In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, Kathleen, he is survived by his children, Mary Beth Hutchinson of Greensburg, Duffy (Ann Marie) Hutchinson of Doylestown, PA, Laura (Dave) Schoettmer of Powell, OH, Mike (Mary Louise) Hutchinson of Greensburg; grandchildren, Kiernan and Ryan Hutchinson, Greta and Erich Schoettmer; a sister, Ruth Cooke of Lisbon, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and loved ones will be received at Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg, on Friday from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11am, with Pastor Chris Whitehead officiating.
