Gregory J. Pologruto, 75, of Hempfield Township, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 27, 1949 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Orlando and Rose (Chinnici) Pologruto. He was a graduate of Hempfield High School and Dayton University. Prior to retirement he worked at the former Jeannette District Memorial Hospital then for Mayo Clinic. Greg loved volleyball, water skiing, boating, bowling, golfing, watching the Steelers and socializing. He belonged to several social clubs in the Greensburg area. He is survived by his sister, Ann Frye and husband Ralph of Unity Township, his brother, Anthony J. “Tony” Pologruto and wife Sandy of Hempfield Township, nieces and nephews, Anthony J. Pologruto, Jr. (Sara), Valarie Ackley (Shawn), Jason Frye (Dorothy), Todd Frye (Rachel) and Chad Frye (Jennifer), several great nieces and nephews and many great friends. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 5 PM Saturday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, at which time funeral services will be held with The Rev. William A. Schaefer officiating. The family would like to thank Westmoreland Hospital 2nd floor nurse Leann and his caregiver Brenda “Hazel” Angus for their care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1325 Mission Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
