Gladys E. Shultis, 97, of Lycippus, died Friday, April 16, 2021 in Mountain View Senior Living, Hempfield Township. She was born October 15, 1923 in Pleasant Unity, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Anna (Susak) Goodman. Gladys was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Trauger. She loved nature, enjoyed watching and feeding birds outside of her Lycippus home. She also loved long rides and took many road trips across the United States with her husband. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Shultis, and her siblings, Nellie Selembo, Ruth E. Funk, Robert F. and George W. Goodman. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. Siko and husband Michael of Latrobe, two grandchildren, Douglas Siko (Jennifer McCombs) of Latrobe and Nicole Siko of Pittsburgh, two great grandchildren, Zachary and Bailey Siko and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 Noon Monday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, at which time a funeral liturgy will begin with The Rev. Paul-Alexander Shutt, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Byzantine Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. Please be prepared to adhere to all current health guidelines, including face masks and social distancing.
