George Barry Cook

George Barry Cook, 70, of Greensburg, died Monday, December 20, 2021, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born June 17, 1951, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late George Benfred and Sarah Elizabeth (Nemitz) Cook.  George had been employed by Westinghouse Airbrake, ATI Steel, and Allegheny Ludlum Steel.  He loved toy trains and was an avid toy train collector.  He was a member of the Fort Pitt Toy Train Collectors Association.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard McKeever.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary (Diana) Cook; his son, James “Jimmy” Cook (Shanna); two daughters, Rebecca Marquez (fiancé David), and Joanie Cook; six grandchildren, Carlos, Kaitlin, Alex, Elizabeth, Keenan, and Gavin; five siblings, Phil Baum (Anita), Reno Baum (Barbara), Paul Baum (Linda), Raymond Baum (Linda), and Debbie Camp; and several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received from 12 to 2 PM Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the LEO M.
