Geoffrey David Geier, an entrepreneur and lifelong resident of Greensburg, PA, died Sunday, April 10, 2022, comfortably at home at the age of 74 following complications of a double lung transplant. He was born in Pittsburgh on Sunday, February 1, 1948, to Claire Ziegler Geier and Leonard Rauwolf Geier. Geoff is survived by his wife, Cathy Cramer Geier of 55 years; his daughter, Katie Elizabeth (husband Marvin Noreiga) and their two daughters, Kate and Amalia of Davidsonville, MD; his son, Geoffrey Michael (wife Deanna Lee) and their three sons, Noah, Maverick and Cruz of Ocala, FL; his two sisters, Faith and Melissa; along with several nieces and nephews (Adam, David and Robbie Cramer, Joe and Mari Geier, Jennifer and Nicholas Diederich and James Artman). Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Geier; brother-in-law, Clifford Brooks Cramer; and niece, Inger Bauer. Geoff began his own business in 1976, establishing Country Auto Service, providing mechanical and auto body services to customers until 2002 when he retired to enjoy life with his wife, Cathy, boating and growing their real estate business. Those that knew Geoff, knew that he enjoyed life, made others laugh and had a larger-than-life personality. He was an avid boater, having enjoyed his early boating life with family on the rivers of Pittsburgh and the Great Lakes. Later in life he spent time traveling up in and down the Atlantic seaboard, stopping in ports as far north as Arcadia, Maine and as far south as the Bahamas and the Dry Tortugas. Most recently, Geoff got to experience RV life on his “bus” as he and Cathy made the trip of a lifetime through the National Parks. Geoff carried a deep appreciation for the lasting friendships he made through his membership in the Long Range Cruiser Club and the Otterbein United Methodist Church. He attended Carson Long Military Academy and was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 111 College Ave., Greensburg. Please go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that Geoff’s memory be preserved through donations to the Thomas E.
