Geary L. Smith, 84, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Waldon’s View Senior Living, North Huntingdon. He was born April 14, 1940, in Waltz Mill, a son of the late George Smith and Charlotte (McCune) Shively. Geary was an Air Force veteran, where he learned his trade of metallurgy, which he then used throughout his career. Geary was a metallurgical and quality engineer and worked at U.S. Steel and Volkswagen before retiring from TriTech Services. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Greensburg. Geary was a snowbird spending his winters in Florida and his summers in Pennsylvania. He was an avid golfer, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, and enjoyed spending time with family. He loved cats and had a passion for rescuing them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Gladys “Sandy” Smith; former wife, Vicky Smith; three brothers, James Smith (Bertha), Jack Smith, and Dennis Keim; a sister, Nanette Trimbath (Ronald); a nephew, George Smith; and a niece, Kelly Kraft. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith; two sons, Jeffrey Smith and wife Andrea, and Douglas Smith and wife Rhonda; four grandchildren, Zoe, Ean, Nicholas, and Jacob; and two brothers, Rod Smith (Priscilla) and Bart Smith (Pat). Friends will be received from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Additional visitation will be from 12 to 1 PM Saturday in the funeral home followed by a funeral service to begin at 1 PM with the Rev. David Clement officiating.
