Frank D. Capasso, Jr., 65 of Greensburg died on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born in Greensburg, on July 5, 1960, he was a son of Frank D. Capasso, Sr. and the late Sandra (Campbell) Capasso.
Frank was a graduate of Hempfield High School, class of 1978 and worked for many years in pipeline fusion with S & C Pipeline and ultimately retiring from RKN Trucking where he specialized in equipment transportation. He was a longtime member of the Fort Allen Fireman’s Social Club, the SNPJ Lodge #223, and the Roosevelt Club.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, camping, kayaking, canoeing, bicycling, and boating. He was also a collector of many things and enjoyed fixing and restoring cars. Frank was proud that he had never missed a Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Above all, he enjoyed life and spending time with his friends, especially his late best friend, David DiRado.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandson Devin Capasso. Frank is survived by his father; a daughter, Angela Brinker of Washington; a son, Matthew Capasso (Amanda) of Latrobe; two grandsons, Enzo and Teko Capasso; two sisters, Debbie Teet (Don) of Penn, and Cindy LaVella (Bobby) of Greensburg; and nieces and nephews, Anthony LaVella, Marissa Sherman (Daniel) and Brandon Teet (Becky).
A heartfelt thank you belongs to Danielle DiRado for her love and care as she followed Frank through life and during his final days. Also, special thanks to the staff of Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital for the wonderful care Frank received during his prolonged hospital stay.
