Floyd "Jack" E. Maxson

Floyd E. “Jack” Maxson, 75, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born November 10, 1946 in Greensburg, a son of the late Lester O. Maxson and Marie (Pierce, Maxson) Thompson. 

Prior to retirement he had been employed by ARCO Enterprises for 35 years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed remodeling and woodworking.  Many of his woodworking creations are being enjoyed by his family and friends.  Jack was a veteran of the Marine Corps.  He enjoyed telling everyone that he was born on the Marine Corps birthday.  Jack was a member of the American Legion Post No. 981 and the Roosevelt Club. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, David A. Thompson; his brother, James R. Maxson; brother-in-law, Barry Ruble; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Julius and Susan Siko; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Siko) Kutzer and Theresa (Butz) Siko; and brothers-in-law, George Malarchik, Bobby Johnson, Richard J. Siko, and Thomas R. Siko. 

Jack is survived by his wife, Elaine (Siko) Maxson; his daughters, Sherri (Tom) Gewax, Jacquelyn Maxson and Michelle Maxson and her friend Zack Dreskler; grandsons, Christopher Palacki and friend Kati Crabtree, Tyler Maxson and friend Katy Eicher, Cody Johnston and wife Madison, and Garrett Johnston and friend Brandi Wilk; his special great-grandson, Zayden Maxson; brother, Ron (Nancy) Maxson; sister, Donna Ruble; sisters-in-law, Karen Maxson, Susanne (John) Strasser, Bernadette (John) Henderson, Emily Johnson, Anita Malarchik, Carolyn Siko-Myhre, and Cecilia Siko; brothers-in-law, Donald (Kathy) Siko and Robert Kutzer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral service will begin at 12 PM Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. David H. Clement officiating.  Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.
