Ferne L. Benson, 93, of Southwest Greensburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 30, 2026. She was born May 25, 1933, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Courtland J. and Gertrude M. (Tallant) Morgan.
Ferne was a faithful member of Maplewood Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a switchboard operator with the Sears, Roebuck and Co., where she worked for many years.
In addition to her parents, Ferne was preceded in death by her son, Scott A. Benson; her grandson, Alex Benson; and her sister, Melba Gallatin. She is survived by her two sons, Gary L. Benson of Southwest Greensburg and Jon C. Benson and his wife, Katherine, of Marion, Ohio; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Ferne's wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. A celebration of life will be held at the Maplewood Presbyterian Church at a later date.
