Evelyn T. Merlino, 94, of McDonald, died Monday, May 25, 2026, in Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. She was born June 22, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Walter and Marie (Freisel) Rolewski. Evelyn volunteered and worked part time for a daycare where all the children called her grandma. Her claim to fame is she said since she was a little girl she wanted four sons, and she got exactly that. Her four sons meant the world to her and loved her dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Merlino; two brothers, Leonard and Raymond Rolewski; and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Litzner. She is survived by four sons, James, Keith (Michele), Kenneth, and Brian (Linda) Merlino; five grandchildren, Josh, Sarah, Destany, Dominic (Sarah), and Isabella; two great-grandchildren, Leila and Milo; a brother, Howard Rolewski; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:00 AM Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg.
