Evelyn M. “Toots” McCauley, 95, formerly of Greensburg, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in Waynesburg Health & Rehab, Greene County. She was born December 23, 1928 in Penn Township, a daughter of the late Michael H. and Mary C. (Mahoy) Roscosky. Prior to retirement she was a registered nurse at Oakhill Nursing Home and previously at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. She was a nurse and was always taking care of everyone. After retirement she was known for her cookies until her long difficult battle with dementia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis L. “Bucky” McCauley and her brother, William M. Roscosky, Sr. She is survived by her son, Michael L. McCauley and wife Christine, her granddaughter, Shelley Watkiss and husband Blake, two great grandchildren, Parker and Addison, a sister-in-law, Pat Roscosky, a niece and 2 nephews. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg, at which time a funeral liturgy will be held with The Rev. Daniel L. Blout as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or to St. Jude’s, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
