Erik Y. Granlund

Erik Y. Granlund, 17, of United, died Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born October 2, 2007 in Latrobe, a son of Sarah L. Kistner (fiancé Eric D. Klink) of United and Eric M. Granlund of Maryland.  Erik was an amazing kid.  He loved to play X-Box and VR with his online friends, spend time with family and loved the beach and ocean.  He had the highest honors in school.  Erik loved all his siblings and always held the role of their protector.  He was truly his mother’s savior.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Arthur Granlund.  In addition to his parents he is survived by siblings, Abigail Granlund of Calumet, Haley Phillabaum of Mt. Pleasant, A.J. Granlund of Georgia, Nevaeh and Emily Klink both of United, maternal grandparents, Ann L. Kistner and Glenn E. Barr both of Calumet, paternal grandparents, Lori Jones (Wayne) of Florida, aunt Stephanie Kistner (David Souka) of Mt. Pleasant and uncle Jason Kistner (Heather) of Greensburg.  God holds our angel in his hands.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday with Pastor Ron Ingelido officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Paul Reformed Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
