Edwin Earl Hudson, Sr., 97, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born September 5, 1926, to Edwin Paul and Gladys (Hannah) Hudson of Greensburg. He was a lifelong resident of Greensburg and known by everyone as Earl. He served in the United States Army in the World War II in the European theater. His service to our country defined his pride and dedication to our country. His dedication to the community began March 17, 1949, when he became a member of Greensburg Hose Co. #8, where he was the oldest living member until his passing. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Firemen’s Association and the Westmoreland County Firemen’s Association. Earl was actively involved in the Greensburg Fire Department Museum. He was a member of the American Legion Post 981, South Greensburg. He was also a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Moore. Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Edith I. (Seip) Hudson; loving son, Edwin E. Hudson, Jr.; loving daughter, Linda Hudson and husband Keith Brock; grandson Joseph Cline; brother, John Hudson; special family member, Cindy Hosack (Harry); and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. The Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a service at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. www.bachafh.com
