Edith F. (Bollinger) Tinkey

Edith F. Tinkey, 91, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born April 17, 1930, in Unity Township, a daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Elizabeth (Wallace) Bollinger. She was a graduate of Hurst High School and was a homemaker. Edith was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Trauger, was an active member of the Mary Martha Fellowship, treasurer and altar flower coordinator for the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clair E. Tinkey; a grandson, Christopher R. Tinkey; a great-granddaughter, Janelle C. Gearhart; two sons-in-law, Duane Baird and Elder "Rip" Ripper; and three sisters, Blanche M. McMahen, Margaret Eileen Marks and Mildred Hoyman. She is survived by five children, Linda Ripper, of Mt. Pleasant, Gail Stairs and husband, Roger, of Florida, Calvin Tinkey and wife, Patience, of Florida, Kenneth Tinkey and wife, Janet, of Arizona, and Marcia Ruszkowski and husband, Michael, of Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis and husband, Kristopher, of Mt. Pleasant, Lorrie Hamilton and husband, Daniel, of Kennett Square, Ashley Barraclough and husband, Aaron, of New York, Nicole Iyer and husband (Hridaya) and Michael Tinkey and wife, Heather, all of Arizona, Kyle Ruszkowski and Paige Ruszkowski, both of Kentucky; nine great-grandchildren, Jillian, Jayden, Jordon, Michael, Kassidy, Tyler, Maya, Anand and Everleigh; a sister, Joanne Welch, of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews. A private visitation and service for immediate family will be held at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, with the Rev. Frank S. Podolinski Jr. officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Reformed Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
