Edgar "Jack" Marshall Obituary

Edgar R. “Jack” Marshall, 85, of Hempfield Township, died Monday, January 17, 2022, in his home.  He was born November 28, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Edgar B. and Ruth Frances (Linsenbigler) Marshall.  Prior to retirement he had been the owner and operator of Marshall Retreading in Greensburg.  He was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Greensburg, where he served as a deacon, a trustee and was a member of the choir. He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Jack was a member of American Legion Post 981, South Greensburg and its honor guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Scott Marshall, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna E. (Stevenson) Marshall; two sons, Matthew Marshall (Rebecca), of Apollo and David Marshall (Mary), of Stowe; and two great grandsons, Aedan and Alexander Marshall. Friends will be received 10 to 11 AM Saturday at First Baptist Church, Greensburg where a funeral service will begin at 11AM with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 981, South Greensburg Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1228 Armbrust Brinkerton Rd., Greensburg, PA 15601. LEO M.
