Duane Scott Ritenour, 74, of Latrobe, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at his home. Born October 1, 1951, in Latrobe, Duane was the son of the late Harvey Ritenour Sr. and Freida “Becky” (Peiffer) Ritenour. Duane was a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School. Prior to his retirement in 2007, he was employed by Derry Construction, where he worked as a heavy equipment and paver operator. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 66. Duane enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often socializing at the Whitney Social Club. He also loved the outdoors, especially hunting, gardening, and farming on the family farm, activities that brought him great satisfaction throughout his life. In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his brothers, Miles, Earl, and Harvey Ritenour Jr., and his sister, Louise (Ritenour) Perino. He is survived by his son, Shane P. (Michele) Ritenour of Latrobe; his grandson, Brayden; his brother, Elmer (Margie) Ritenour of Latrobe, his sisters, Arlene Carnahan of Latrobe and Dolores (Richard) Rause of Bradenville, as well as several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Duane’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Friends will be received from 4 to 5 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, when a memorial service will be held with The Rev. David L. Greer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
