Dorothy L. (Perkins) Polca

Dorothy Lee “PolcaDot” (Perkins) Polca, 89, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Concordia at Weatherwood, Greensburg.  She was born December 20, 1935, in Oklahoma City, OK, a daughter of the late William W. Perkins and Edna L. (Wahlen) Bentley (Joseph S. Bentley).  Dorothy was a devoted housewife and a loving mother, sister, and friend.  She lived by the rule, “if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.”  She always had a positive attitude and outlook on life.  She was selfless and had a kind, loving soul that would bring a smile to anyone.  She was a beloved wife and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Polca; her daughter, Jeanett L. Ray; her son, Sidney Allen Collett; and her sister, JoAnn Curnutt.  She is survived by five children, Sherry B. Back, of Texas, Delton Ray Collett (Paula), of Virginia, Duane M. Polca (Jennifer), of Kansas, Michael T. Polca (Rhonda), of Florida, and Denise M. Patrick (Thomas), of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Roy Bentley (Norma), and Jerry Bentley (Jan); five sisters, Billie Knox, Evelyn Pugh, Jobeth Corwin (Tommy), Robbye Plummer, and Eileen Miller (Carrol); and many nieces and nephews.  This yellow rose from Texas, “Dorothy”, will be truly missed by many.  There will be no public visitation.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  LEO M.
