Obituary
Dorothy I. Emmert Lewis, 93, of Derry Township, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born June 22, 1929 in Whitney, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Gertrude (Stairs) Daugherty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Emmert, her second husband, John L. Lewis, an infant daughter, Katheryn, a son, Donald Emmert, 2 brothers, Earl and George Daugherty, and 3 sisters, Bessie May Emmert, Mary Emmert and Emma Edwards. She is survived by 8 children, Shirley Cioffi (Peter) of Las Vegas, NV, Georgianna Kraszewski of New Derry, Robert Emmert of Derry Township, Kim Coursin (Craig) of Loyalhanna, Linda Edwards of Orlando, FL, Jackie Sherback of New Derry, John Lewis of Derry and Lorraine Lewis of Latrobe, 20 grandchildren including Jonna Lewis (Cory Rogers) and Kristie Smith who helped care for Dorothy, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 PM Sunday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday with The Rev. David H. Clement officiating. Interment will follow in Lycippus Community Cemetery, Unity Township.
