Donald W. McCabe

Donald W. McCabe, 86, of Southwest Greensburg, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born October 5, 1938, in McKees Rocks.  Donald worked for Papercraft Corporation as Vice President of Purchasing.

He was a member of Middle Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant where he was a deacon, trustee, and elder of the church. Donald was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War on the USS Manley DD940. Don was an animal lover, especially his 13-year-old shelty, Cody.

He was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Maurice McCabe; and his mother, Esther C. (Thompson) McCoy and her husband, John Wesley McCoy.  Don is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia A. (Jordan) McCabe; three children, Mary Pat Thornton (John), Kevin McCabe (Marci), and Donna Lynn Thornton (Thom); seven grandchildren, Matthew Thornton (Laura), Megan Stokes (Ryan), Joshua, Aubrelyn, Eric, and Shane Thornton, and Ryan McCabe; brother, Wesley McCoy (Cheryl); and sister, Linda (McCabe) Douglas.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor James Glisan officiating. Interment will follow in Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mount Pleasant with full military honors to be accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.
