Dominic J. Detore

Dominic J. Detore, 88, of Greensburg, went suddenly to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.  He was born October 26, 1934, in Greensburg, a son of the late Dominic and Flora (Rosati) Detore.  Dom was an Army veteran.  He was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  Jesus was a carpenter and so was Dom.  He was a lifelong master home builder and contractor who began his career at the age of 17 with the completion of his parents’ home.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Etta G. (Scherer) Detore; and five siblings, Nicolletta, Jane, John, Tom, and Frank.  He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Debbie Detore (John Dulemba), of Greensburg, Desiree Roy, of Pittsburgh, Nicholas Roy, III, of Pittsburgh, JoAnn Berry, of North Carolina, Sharon Leonard, of Maryland, and Robert Leonard, Jr., of Maryland; and his girlfriend, Pat Kowalsky, of Latrobe.  Friends will be received from 3 to 5 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a funeral liturgy will begin at 5 PM in the funeral home.  Private interment will be in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  www.bachafh.com
