Dolores J. (Koza) Surma

Dolores J. Surma, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing, Unity Township.  She was born October 11, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Sandzimier) Koza.  She was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Surma, Jr., 9 brothers, John, Charlie, Joe, Melvin, Casmir, Frank, Stanley, Vincent and Eugene Koza, 4 sisters, Nellie Martinoski, Rose Petrilla, Cil Connors and Mary Boshinsky and a grandson-in-law, Justin Spaid.  She is survived by her sons, Jon Eric Surma (Tracey) of Trauger and Jonathan “Jay” Surma (Rayna) of Norvelt, 5 grandchildren, Joscelyn Muellerleile (Zachary), Jaylynn Surma (Mason Benchoff), Cody Surma (Sydney), Cole Surma and Carly Surma, 3 great grandchildren, Grayson, Gannon and Grant Muellerleile, a brother, Marion Koza (Regina), a sister-in-law, Eileen Koza and more than 100 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  At Dodie’s request there will be no visitation or viewing.  Family and friends are invited to a memorial mass to be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, March 26, 2026 in St. Florian Catholic Church, 4263 Route 981, Mt. Pleasant (United), with The Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant.  Please go directly to the church.  Inurnment will follow in St. Florian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.  The family would like to thank the staff at Kadima in Latrobe.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  LEO M.
