Dennis “Ringo” Michael Evancho of Greensburg passed away early morning of Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Westmoreland Hospital. He was born on April 10, 1947 in Greensburg. He was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Opsitnick) Evancho. He graduated from Hempfield Area High School and was an alumnus of Penn State University where he majored in Forestry. When you met Ringo (aka Honey Bear) you realized that you were meeting a very interesting life force. To say he was one-of-a-kind would be putting it mildly. Besides being a very hard worker all his life, he had many interests and passions. First was his love for his wife of many years, Suzanne and daughters Lisa and Sunshine. His experiences living with three women was interesting, to say the least. He loved them all and was a good husband and father and always provided for them and tried to do what was right. His grandkids, Quinn and Emerson, were a brilliant light in his life. They would love, entertain and cheer him on as he did them. He couldn’t be more proud of them both. His buddies Sam and Scrapper both made his life calm (most times) and always interesting. They were both always by his side. His other love was for his brothers Joe and Ronnie and their shared experiences in the outdoors. They shared many hours together in the woods of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Colorado and Alaska. Their harvests were a thing of legends from Pennsylvania whitetails, gigantic bull elk in Colorado and massive Bull Moose in Alaska. They did what we all wish we could. Their adventures were true bonding among brothers. Besides family relationships there was never a yard sale or flea market Ringo could pass up. He had some sort of drive that required him to see what was for sale. His interests ranged from archery equipment to deer antlers to Harley parts to life sized lawn statues to who knows what. But he had to buy it. Without a doubt he was one of the most interesting and personable man you could ever have the pleasure to meet. Sadly, the last few years have been extremely rough on him, but he handled it with strength and dignity. You can call yourself lucky if you ever met Ringo. He leaves behind his wife, Suzanne (Kohan) Evancho and his loving daughters, Lisa Christine Evancho of Pittsburgh and Sunshine Evancho Wilkins, her husband Kris of Greensburg, and his precious grand-daughter, Emerson Skye Wilkins and grand-son Quinn Michael Wilkins; his sisters Carol Evancho (Wayne) Sillaman of Youngwood and Elaine Evancho Robb of Greensburg, his sister-in-law Barbara (Kohan) Scozio of Jeannette, brothers-in-law John Michael (Lori) Kohan of Hernando FL, Mark Matthew (Dawn) Kohan of Mercer, PA and many nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his devoted friend, Joe “Joe B.” Barauskas and his wife “Aunt Marcia” of Bear Rocks. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Bertha Evancho, his brothers Joseph (Kathy) Evancho and Ronald Evancho and his sister Janet (Tony) DeFrank. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg is assisting with arrangements. www.bachafh.com There will be a very private “saying good-by” celebration of his life soon and a memorial service for family and friends at a date to be determined later. Memories and condolences may be left for his family in the guestbook. Ringo would have only asked to have a tree planted in his name.
