Obituary

Debera A. Matthews, 70, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.  She was born July 20, 1952 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Shirley A. (Strandberg) Cramer.  Prior to retirement she worked at Supervalu in New Stanton and was a member of Teamsters local #30.  Debera was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trauger and loved to travel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Matthews, Jr., an infant daughter, Jennifer, an infant son, Creighton and a brother, Ronald Cramer.  She is survived by her daughter, Amy L. Matthews, her granddaughter, Gabrielle Matthews, 2 brothers, Donald Cramer and his friend Diane Weyant and Eddie Cramer and wife Toni, 3 sisters, Linda Shultz and husband Gene, Barb Horton and husband Bruce and Karen Smoker and husband Jeff, sister-in-laws, Judy Cramer, Jeannette Stanger and husband Doug and Colleen Matthews, brother-in-laws, Brian Matthews and wife Ann Marie and Lyle Matthews and wife Nancy and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will begin at 11 AM Thursday with The Rev. L. Samuel Scheiderer officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
