Connie A. (Long) Powell

Connie A. Powell, 79, of Greensburg, died Thursday, August 26, 2021 in her home.  She was born April 12, 1942 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late James A. Sr. and Edith (Rose) Long.  Prior to retirement she had been a physical therapy aide at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg, the Cercemaggiore Association, and the Red Hatters.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Long; brother, James Long Jr.; niece, Robin Long; sister-in-law, Bonnie Long; brother-in-law, John “Jack” Omelite; and four infant nieces.  She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Marie Wackowski (Doug), of Grasonville, MD; three grandchildren, Connor, Evan, and Emma Wackowski; two brothers, Thomas Long, of Greensburg, and Richard Long (Marlene), of Mt. Pleasant; her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Omelite, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  www.bachafh.com
