Christopher M. Velkey

Christopher M. Velkey, 48, of Calumet, died Sunday, December 8, 2024 in Deep Creek, MD.  He was born December 8, 1976 in Latrobe, a son of Carol D. (Donahey) Velkey of Bradenville and Mark M. Velkey of Latrobe.  He was a graduate of Greater Latrobe Area High School and worked for Max Environmental in Yukon.  Chris was a member of Trauger Vol. Fire Department.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles M. Donahey and paternal grandparents, John R. and Nellie Velkey.  He is survived by his wife, Daneyl N. (Loughner) Velkey, 2 children, Bryenna A. Velkey and her fiancé Caleb W. Chismar of Mt. Pleasant and his son, Cole M. Velkey at home, 2 grandsons, Easten W. and Greysen C. Chismar, 2 brothers, Jeremy R. Velkey and wife Katy and their son Xander of Stahlstown and Matthew Miller and wife Stephanie and their children Jacob and Emma of Mt. Pleasant, maternal grandmother, Marlyn K. Donahey of Latrobe and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity where a funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday with The Rev. John A. Sedlak officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
