Cheryl "Cheri" Sternick Henderson

Cheryl “Cheri” Sternick Henderson, 78, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, in Independence Health Westmorland Hospital.  She was born on February 17, 1948, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Anita M. (Bachert) and George H. Sternick. 

Cheri retired from Verizon, formerly Bell Telephone after 35 years of service and was a proud member of the "Retired Bell Girls".  She then went on to work for Gabriel Brothers, Inc.  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. 

In addition to her parents, Cheri was preceded in death by her brother, James Sternick; and a great-nephew, Cameron Murtland.  She is survived by her siblings, Marilyn Sternick Murtland (Michael) of Latrobe, Alanna Sternick Kubinec (Thomas) of Greensburg, and Paul Sternick (Karen) of Unity Township; eight nieces and nephews, Alison Gray (Tim), Jaime Sternick, Michael Murtland, Cody Murtland (Nicole), Thomas Kubinec (Leigh), Caitlin Kobuck (Mark), Dr. Molly Sternick (Travis Lipscomb), and Luke Sternick (fiancé, Salena Paronish); several great nieces & nephews; and her beloved cat, Moses. 

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9 AM Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  www.bachafh.com
