Charles R. Galbach, 87, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Independence Health System, Westmoreland Hospital. He was born July 31, 1938, in Duquesne, a son of the late John and Ann (Cenker) Galbach. He was a graduate of Duquesne University, Class of 1960 and Air Force Veteran, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel, serving as a Command Pilot during the Vietnam era. Following his active-duty service, he continued as an Air Force Reservist and was employed as a systems analyst for the Westinghouse Corporation. He was a dedicated member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and served as cantor for many years. He was also an avid musician, having played tuba within the Jeannette Community Band for many years and offered private lessons to many students. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Moritz. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jeanette (Kintz) Galbach; children, Denise Berry, of S. Dakota, Loretta Prescott and husband Tony, of Greensburg, Phillip Galbach and wife Carrie, of Greensburg, Cathy Greulich and husband Chris, of Ohio, and Kenneth Galbach, of Harrison City; grandchildren, John, Adam and Michael Berry, Kelsey and James Barton, Rachel and Scott Galbach, Megan Destun, Emma and Alena Greulich, and Jenaya Jubek; great-grandchildren, Sam, Peyton, Anberlain, Hudson, Riley, Ava, Mason, and Oliver; a sister, Margaretta Horten; a brother, Regis Galbach; and several nieces and nephews Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Panachida will begin at 9:30 AM Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. Parastas will begin at 6 PM Monday in the funeral home. www.bachafh.com
