Catherine M. (Wright) Yurcovich

Catherine M. (Wright) Yurcovich, 91, of Southwest Greensburg, died Friday, September 27, 2024, in Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center, Greensburg.  She was born October 31, 1932, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Catherine (Bodnar) Wright.  Prior to retirement she had been employed by Westinghouse in the semiconductor division.  Catherine had also worked for General Tire and Rubber, Bell Telephone Company, Johnston the Florist, Barbara Ann’s, South Main Landscaping, Adams House, and the Executive Lounge.  She was also an expert flower arranger.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Boots” Yurcovich; her brother, Charles M. Wright; grandson, Matthew Krause; cousin, Mike Lucotch; and several aunts and uncles.  She is survived by her son, Vincent Poteste and wife Diane; two grandchildren, Mark Carnes (Melanie Fawcett), and Kelsey Rafferty (Michael); five great-grandchildren, Noah and Elijah Rafferty, Jacob and Nick Carnes, and Zachary Fawcett (Rena); her aunt, Eleanor Baum; cousins, Audrey Lucotch, Kathy Kuchpa (Mike), and Thelma “Snooky” Lotman (Lou); and special friends, Judy Zackel, Jerry, Phil, and Rita Detore, Colleen Dalicandro, and Maureen and John Mash.  Friends will be received from 3 to 7 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Jared Bowling officiating.  Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.  The family would like to thank Independence Health, Redstone Highlands, Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center, Suncrest Hospice, and Mutual Aid Ambulance Service for their excellent care and kindness.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choice.  www.bachafh.com
