Carmelita L. (McGrath) Jackson

Carmelita L. (McGrath) Jackson, 83, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Greensburg, died Friday, September 15, 2023.  She was born January 12, 1940, in Crabtree, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anna C. (Zuzik) McGrath.  Prior to retirement she had been employed by the City of Greensburg Parking Authority.  Carmelita was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Charlotte, NC, and the former St. Boniface Catholic Church.  She loved flowers, playing bingo, watching Wheel of Fortune, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Regis E. Jackson; two sisters, Kathleen Elizabeth Wilkins, and Mary Jane McGrath; and her brother, Thomas Patrick McGrath.  She is survived by her children, Faith Jane Petho (Douglas Allen), Thomas Frederick Jackson (Pamela Jo), David Edward Jackson (Beth Ann), and Cynthia L. Henry (Earl J.); five grandchildren, Thomas Jackson (Kayla), Hillary Chelednik (Craig), Rylee Jackson, Madelyn Petho, and Macey Petho; one great-granddaughter, Clara; one brother, Kevin Brian McGrath (Regina); one sister, Patricia Ann Sima; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Crabtree with The Rev. Justin Matro, OSB as celebrant.  Private inurnment in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
