Betty (Johnston) White

Betty J. White, 88, of Greensburg, died Monday, December 9, 2024 at Concordia of Monroeville.  She was born June 1, 1936 in Pleasant Unity, a daughter of the late Ned and Janet (Myers) Johnston.  Prior to retirement she worked at the former Vanadium in Latrobe, Seton Hill College and previously at the former Stemmler’s Store in Pleasant Unity.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greensburg, where she sang in the church choir.  Betty loved sudoku puzzles and playing the piano.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. White in September and her sister, Letha Henderson.  She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Szulczewski and husband Leonard of Monroeville and many nieces and nephews.  Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held at 1 PM Friday, January 10, 2025 at First United Methodist Church, 15 E. Second Street, Greensburg.  Inurnment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.  Lisa and Leonard would like to thank all the staff at Concordia who cared for and loved mom in her last months of life.  They would also like to thank Alexis, Sadie and Camille from Good Samaritan Hospice for their kindness and compassion on her last days.  LEO M.
