Bert G. Steeves

Bert G. Steeves, 72, of Pleasant Unity, formerly of Blairsville, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born April 26, 1948, in Latrobe, a son of the late Bert R. and Anna M. (Fitzpatrick) Steeves. Bert served with the Army during the Vietnam War and was Catholic by faith. Prior to retirement, he was the CEO of Community Healthcare. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Vresilovic) Steeves, and his paternal grandparents who helped raise him, George W. and Caroline (Enrico) Steeves. He is survived by his children, Samantha, Kalen, Angela, Trevor and Brooke Steeves, five grandsons, Hunter, London, Eli, Milo and Isaiah, his sister, Carol Steeves, and his friend and companion, Jolie Kenney. A private funeral liturgy was held at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, with the Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Interment was in SS Simon & Jude Catholic Cemetery, Blairsville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Disabled Veterans Associations. www.bachafh.com.
