Bernard T. Wisneski, 97, of Greensburg, formerly of Jeannette, died peacefully at home, after a life well lived, Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, with his loving daughter and caretaker, Carol, who he lived with, by his side. He was born March 6, 1924, in Greensburg, a son of the late Joseph and Katie (Olinzock) Wisneski. Prior to retirement, he had been a former part owner of Wisneski Auto Service in Crabtree. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of Ascension Church, Jeannette and was a former member of the former Greensburg No. 6 Firemen's Club, where his father was a founding member. Bernie was a fabulous poker player. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida E. (Rose) Wisneski; six brothers, Alex, John, Thomas, Robert, Michael and Walter Wisneski; and his sister, Frances Uhrinek. Bernie was the last surviving member of his family and was the patriarch of the extended Wisneski family. He is survived by three grateful, loving daughters, Carol Williams (Jim Ciccone), Donna Wisneski Murray (Jack Murray) and Maryanne Stairs Eckels (Patrick Stairs) and Craig Eckels; his beloved grandson, to whom he was extremely devoted, Christopher P. Stairs (Cecelia); sister-in-law, Lois Rose; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A private family visitation and funeral service liturgy will be held at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg.
