B. Wayne Edwards, 70, passed away peacefully at his home on December 16, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born on December 3, 1950 in Scottdale, a son of the late Paul C. "Pete" Edwards and Ethel "Toots" Fulmer Edwards.
Wayne was the proud owner of Edwards Autobody for 47 years. He took great pride in his work and loved that his "shop" was a meeting place for him and his life-long friends. His close friends, Eric and Curtis Black and employees, Joe and Cody, worked so hard to finish the remaining vehicles at his autobody shop when Wayne fell ill. He was so appreciative that they did this in order to keep the high level of service and craftsmanship that Wayne prided himself on.
Wayne was a true family man. He enjoyed taking his family out to dinner, having campfires and cookouts, watching fireworks and setting them off. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved screaming at the TV whether his teams were winning or losing. Back in the day, he rode his Harley with friends and his brother, Butch, to Conneaut Lake Park where he had many great summer memories. Wayne loved listening to music, especially oldies and The Beatles. He instilled his passion for this music in his daughters and always told them they had to "listen to the words".
Wayne was such a giving man and would be the first to help out a friend or family member in need. He was known for his sarcastic sense of humor and his one-line sayings. He had a nickname for everyone and once you had a nickname, that was the only way that he referred to you.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judith Ann (DiPietro). They were high school sweethearts and raised a wonderful family together. He is also survived by his daughters Wendy (Stephen) Eperesi and Tara (Jeffrey) Reese as well as his grandchildren Hayley Eperesi, Hunter Eperesi, Braden Reese, Tyler Reese and Teagan Reese. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. His trusty companion, Stoney, was by his side until the very end. Also survived are brother Dennis (Butch) Edwards and his wife, Marcy, and Ronald Edwards as well as many special nieces, nephews, and in-laws Alex and Katheen Gongo, Don DiPietro and Diane Torrero and Donna Thompson.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, viewing and funeral services are private. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC. 516 Stanton St., Greensburg is assisting with arrangements.
Wayne's family would like to thank all of the wonderful families and friends for their well-wishes, meals and household items that were such a huge help during this difficult time. A special thanks also to the kind and compassionate nurses at Excela Home Health and Hospice.
