Anne Rinier Obituary

Anne M. Rinier, 92, of Greensburg, formerly of Youngwood, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Kachonik.

Anne, an exceptional baker of fabulous desserts, was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Youngwood, where she was active for many years in helping with the spaghetti dinners. She was a sales associate at Troutmans and, prior to that, worked the front office at Youngwood Park N Pool. Anne inspected gas masks for the U.S. Government during the Korean War.

In addition to her parents, Anne was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, George; her sisters Mary, Veronica and Patricia; her brothers Joseph, Andrew Jr., John and Edward; her sisters-in-law Ruth and Lucy; and her brothers-in-law George, John and Howard.

She is survived by her children Cynthia (Steve), Richard (Denise) and Randal; grandchildren Sara (David), Steven (Kelly), Lindsay and Michele (George); great-grandchildren Liam and Elissa; her sisters Pauline, Jane, Josephine, Elizabeth (Walter), Rosemary (Charles); her brother David; her sister-in-law Mary Ellen; and her brother-in-law John, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Yes, we are a large family and proud of it!

“Your Mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, the fragrance of life itself. She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well. She's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She's the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of the rainbow. She is Christmas morning. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you, not time, not space … not even death.”  — Author Unknown
