Anne Groom Dix, 74, of Greensburg, died Friday, January 14, 2022, in Harmon House, Mount Pleasant. She was born February 3, 1947, in Centre County, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel Earl and Mary (Seabolt) Groom. Anne was a graduate of BCI High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Juniata College and received a master’s degree in special education from Duquesne University. She spent many professional years advocating for and servicing the needs of countless children and adults with special needs. Anne was a Christian and was a former member of Holiday Park United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, was a Gypsy Scout and was a member and leader of the Girl Scouts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Samuel John Botti. She is survived by her husband, Leroy B. Dix; four children, Beth Avey (Derek), Patricia Martin (Daniel), Joshua Dix (Megan Davis), and Hope Dix; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Amelia, Ethan, Vivianna, Samuel, Lucinda, and Ketziah; and her great-granddaughter, Leilani.
