Anita L. Duda, 76, of Norvelt, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Greene Health and Rehab Center, Greensburg. She was born February 17, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, a daughter of the late Dorthy I. Sweitzer and James Myers. She was a graduate of Hempfield High School. Anita was a lifetime devoted member of Armbrust Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. She also taught the Crusader Class and Joy Fellowship Bible Study. When she wasn’t spending time at the church, Anita enjoyed reading mystery novels and listening to oldies music.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Duda; and her mother-in-law, Anna M. Duda. She is survived by three daughters, Laurie Erhard, of Bear Rocks, Jill Thorburn and husband Mark, of Spotsylvania County, VA, and Chrissy Klejka and husband Jason, of Kecksburg; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Thayer (Scott), Joseph Duda, Caleb Thorburn, Justin Thorburn, Allison Klejka, Jared Wagner, Adam Thorburn, Brandon Klejka, Jonathan Wagner, and Brooke Erhard; and her great-granddaughter, Tatum Thayer.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11 AM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11 AM with The Rev. Don Nagy officiating. Private interment in Fairview Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township. We would like to extend a special thank you to Bridges Hospice for their care and compassion, and an extra special thank you to Greene Health and Rehab Center employees Rob Williams and Rose Stone for taking such great care of our mom and making her laugh so much!
