Andrew A. “Andy” Regalla, 82, of Mt. Pleasant Township (Lycippus), died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital. He was born January 21, 1944 in Lycippus, a son of the late Michael Sr. and Mary (Storkel) Regalla. He was a graduate of Hurst High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California University of PA. Andy served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era as an intelligence analyst from 1964 to 1968, and was a member of American Legion Post #515, Latrobe. He taught social studies at Jeannette Junior/Senior High School for over 35 years and remained a devoted educator long after retirement, sending educational gifts to every child he knew. Andy was a dedicated member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg where he sang for over 60 years and served as lead cantor for over 30 years. He was known for his jovial personality and sense of humor, for always looking for new singing talent, for being the frequent taxi service helping family, friends and fellow parishioners get to appointments, and for always offering to help out those in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Henrietta L. (Stafira) Regalla, sister, Mary Chiramonte (and brother-in-law Tony,) 2 brothers, Michael A. Regalla and John J. Regalla, and brother-in-law, William Grzywinski. He is survived by four children, Michele L. Regalla (spouse Antonio R. Emanuel), Lisa M. Regalla (spouse Maurice B. Hatchett), Christine A. “Chrissy” Regalla (spouse John M. Fegyveresi) and Mark A. Regalla, a granddaughter, Angelina R. Emanuel, brother, Joseph N. Regalla, sister, Eva Ann Grzywinski, sisters-in-law, Norma and Joyce Regalla, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026 and from 12 to 4 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, with a Rosary at 3:00 pm and Parastas at 3:30pm Sunday. Panachida service will begin at 9:15 AM Monday in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and military honors by VFW Post #33 honor guard. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 624 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601.
