Alice Macik, 74, of Southwest Greensburg, died Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Waldon’s View Senior Living, North Huntingdon. She was born February 8, 1950, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Sczymczyk) Warzinski. Alice was a graduate of Monessen High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in special education and elementary education from California State University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to retirement she had worked in special education, elementary, and preschool education for 37 years at Westmoreland Intermediate Unit. She also had also been an instructor for adult reading and literacy. She was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. Alice enjoyed reading, traveling, crossword puzzles, and politics.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fran Sanders. She is survived by her son, Paul Macik and wife, Dr. Katelyn Macik, of Gibsonia; her sister, Rose Warzinski, of Albuquerque, NM; her companion, Don Henry; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy to begin at 12 PM with Deacon John Zombar officiating. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
