Alexander A. “Spanky” Gongo, Jr., 51, of Greensburg, died Monday, March 2, 2026, in his home. He was born on October 11, 1974, in Greensburg, a son of Alexander A., Sr. and Kathleen A. (DiPietro) Gongo. He was a graduate of Hempfield Area High School and had been a consultant for A&A Engineering. Spanky was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. He enjoyed vacationing in Erie and loved his kitties. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Michele A. (Luffey) Gongo; his sister-in-law, Vickie Catalano (John); a special niece, Lindsey Blinn and her family; uncle and aunts, Don DiPietro (Diane), Patricia Zyvith, and Judith Edwards; great-aunt, Irene DiPietro; and numerous cousins who loved him dearly. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral liturgy will begin at 11 AM Thursday in the funeral home.
