Albert A. Shetler, Jr., 90, of Greensburg, died Saturday, September 14, 2024 at his home. He was born April 12, 1934 on the farm, a son of the late Albert A. Shetler, Sr. and Edna E. (Fligger) Shetler. He was head fleet mechanic for Clean Textile Systems for 41 years and was a life long farmer. Albert was a member of International Brotherhood of Fireman and Oilers and the PA Farm Bureau. He owned and operated a National Bicentennial Farm established in 1788, was respected for his dedication and hard work leaving a lasting impression to those around him and leaves behind a legacy that will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Albert Donald Shetler, a great grandson, Nathaniel Deitzel, 2 brothers, Richard E. and Donald M. Shetler, his sister Anna Mae Miller and sons-in-law, Dale Deitzel and Mark Steiner. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nancy Lee (Reece) Shetler, 5 children, Debra Steiner, Diane Deitzel, Darlene Gluck (Steve), Charlotte Shetler Supin (Mark) and Samuel Shetler, 6 grandchildren, Heather Durflinger (Jared), Haley Grimes (Joshua), Peter Gluck (Serena), Sarah Griswold (Michael), Jason Deitzel (Valerie) and Laura Steiner, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Albert was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend to many. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday with Pastor Victor Koshir officiating. Interment will follow in Central Cemetery, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a tree be planted in his memory.
