Agnes G. (Mervay) Uhall, 97, of Greensburg, died Saturday, December 7, 2024, in her home. She was born June 12, 1927, in Whitney, a daughter of the late Stephen, Sr. and Mary A. (Rockar) Merva. Agnes was a Latrobe High School graduate Class of 1947. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Greensburg, where she and her husband were founding members. She enjoyed making pirohi and paska bread at church for many years. Agnes also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. She also enjoyed canning, cooking, and making halupki. Agnes was very artistic and a perfectionist and was famous for her Christmas cookies, especially her nuthorns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Uhall; and five siblings, Elizabeth Tirdil, Marie Yanossy, Josephine Mekic, Evelyn Patterchak, and Stephen J. Merva. She is survived by five children, Michaelene Uhall, Marlene Uhall, Mary Uhall, George Uhall (Cynthia), and Stephen Uhall (Karen); five grandchildren, Raymond Maffit, III (Jessica), Michael Uhall, Nicole Koring, Emma Uhall, and Sarah Uhall; two great grandchildren, Ray and Madison; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Panachida will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg. Entombment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Parasatas and the Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
