Thomas E. Nelson

Thomas E. Nelson,77, of Greensburg, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 In Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born May 23, 1941 in Greensburg, a son of the late Richard and Dorothy (Hobbins) Nelson.  Prior to retirement he had been employed by environmental services at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was a former member of The Valley Green Golf Club and achieved four holes in one. He was a graduate of Hempfield High School.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marla Ann Nelson, an infant sister, Wendy Jo Nelson, and sister, Kathleen Nelson Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Louise (Bowman) Nelson, his daughter, Tara Maurer and husband Michael of Allison Park, two grandchildren that where his pride and joy, Chloe and Lila Maurer, his siblings, Richard Nelson, JR., Rebeca Willochell and husband Arthur, Constance Nelson and Russ Bufalino and Dotty Nelson, bother- in - law Ted Morgan all of Greensburg, two nieces Stacy Staryarsky, Kris Willochell and a nephew, Arthur Willochell II. He is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews and one Great-grandnephew.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. D. Roy Dail officiating.  Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
