Robert N. Metz, 86, of Greensburg, died Friday, October 5, 2018 in his home. He was born December 13, 1931 in Jeannette, a son of the late Howard and Anna (Erret) Metz. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Overmyer Mould, Greensburg and Ross Mould, Washington. Robert was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #981, South Greensburg and served with the Honor Guard for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Roosevelt Club, Hempfield Township. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Pioveson; and two brothers, Hub and Ron Metz. He is survived by his wife, Connie M. (Koehler) Metz; his son, Chris Metz, of New Hampshire; his daughter, Debra Aho, of Washington State; two grandchildren, Keith Bihon and Crystal Pioveson; his great-granddaughter, Alexis Pioveson; his brother, Kerry Metz and wife Eileen, of Massachusetts; two sisters-in-law, Anna Lee Staub, of Pittsburgh, and Thelma Metz, of Jeannette; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. John M. Smaligo officiating, followed by Full Military Honors to be accorded by the American Legion Post #981 Honor Guard, South Greensburg. www.bachafh.com
