Miller “Mitch” Yackovich, 80, of Manor, died Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born December 31, 1936 in Rillton, a son of the late Samuel and Helen (Poznick) Yackovich. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Westmoreland Steel, Madison and previously worked at Babich & Stotler, Yukon. He was a member of Holy Ascension of Our Lord Serbian Orthodox Church, Youngwood, was a veteran of the US Army and member of SNF Lodge #64, Irwin. Miller was a truly devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann P. Yackovich, infant sister Amelia Yackovich, sister Annie Bazala and brother George Yackovich, Sr. He is survived by 5 children, Helen (George) Kalp of Greensburg, Chris Ann (Christopher) Conti of Somerset, Michelle (Daniel) Ratkus of Goodyear, AZ, John Yackovich of Jeannette and Miller (Susan) Yackovich, Jr. of Frederick, MD; 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother Nicholas (Janice) Yackovich of Rillton, 5 sisters, Mary Nagoda of Export, Amelia Damiano of Greensburg, Angeline Babich of Yukon, Catherine Anthony of Rillton and Joanne (Richard) Stepinsky of Lowber, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:15 AM Monday in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy to be celebrated in Holy Ascension of Our Lord Serbian Orthodox Church, Youngwood, at 10 AM with Father Rumen Stoychev as celebrant. Military honors accorded by VFW Post #33 honor guard and interment will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery. Pomen service will be held at 7 PM Sunday in the funeral home. Memory Eternal! www.bachafh.com
